I’m very happy with the mechen m30 hi-fi music player overall. The build quality, performance, user interface, and battery life are all excellent. Sound quality is impressive for the price, and the device feels solid in the hand.
The only downside is the memory card included with the player. I added music the first time and it worked fine, but the second time i tried adding music, the card stopped working. I recommend replacing it with a good branded microsd card for the best experience.
Other than that, the player itself is fantastic and well worth the purchase!

Well constructed metal body. Paired it with an aigo silicone case for added drop protection.
As some other users have pointed out, its great for playing your mp3 files, the ui is a bit dated and takes a bit getting used to.
The click wheel could have benefited from some added grips for your thumb but it works well and its easier to adjust from the left side of the wheel as opposed to rotating from the top.
Audio output is very good and loud. I currently play it at level 7/100.
Connect via the included usb cable and it shows up as an external storage device. After that just drag and drop.
This model does not have bluetooth and i bought it with that in mind. Basic connectivity is what i was looking for.
The have been some complaints about the thumbnails bit i’m not particular about thumbnails so i dont have a problem if it displays or not.
Recommended if you need a single use device free from the notifications of your phone.

Excellent workmanship. Good physical buttons. I adapted well to the navigation wheel. But the sound is just average, and the equalizer is too basic. UI design could be better, it’s difficult to organize the music library. It already comes with a 64GB chip, which is great. Price can’t be beat , may not be as good as the hifi walker but the 100$ price doesn’t justify the extra features the hifi walker is . Very good mp3 player but you just have to convert to mp3 via foobar and adjust the cover art to 300 x 300 on mp3tag . Also ui is kinda clunky and if you have a big library it may freeze but again it’s 60$ cad . Can’t complain

Good player! You can only add 3 playlist though, unless you sort them into folders and use those as “playlists”. It plays mp3, mp4, and flac. Everything excellent! The only thing needed would be a way to navigate a bit faster through all the songs, as it takes time to search from A to Z one by one. Also, the songs do not appear directly by the name of the song’s metadata, but by the name saved as a file. Other than that, everything is fine.

I’ve dropped it 3 times so far, but it still works well.
However, small flaws:
The MP3 player turns off – I suspect – because of the protruding buttons that are likely pressed unconsciously when I have the good device in my pants pocket while weeding.
For the earrings, I would wish that the cable was more stable. I saw a pair of headphones with a thin but wide cable; I think that is more stable and less prone to issues when listening to music while working, but it might get caught on the cable occasionally.
For the really good and very stable case, you could perhaps make a notch on the edges of the case to insert a circular rubber band, so that it hits the ground a little softer.

I listened on HyperX Cloud Alpha S 65 ohm. At full volume it’s not enough; I need 32 ohm bass. In my opinion, it’s not enough, although Alpha S can add bass, but others don’t have this feature. I tried adjusting it on the equalizer; if I don’t mess up, it’s either rock or jazz. Well, where is the quality then?

Very pleased with this dap! Settled on this after extensive research. Perfect for anyone who wants a music player with good battery life, tactile buttons, and no unnecessary bells and whistles. Sound quality is decent, on par with most phones and standard mp3 players, obviously not as good as higher end walkmans etc. So far i have listened for at least six hours playback, and the charge is still reading 4/4. Time will tell how the battery performs but for now it’s amazing considering most of my mp3 players would be half or all the way dead atp. It has a nice quality feel. It’s quite heavy but obviously that’s the price you pay for good battery life. I love the scroller wheel, it feels amazing. I haven’t had any problems with metadata as some have reported and it displays album art just fine. The screen is perfectly adequate. Equalisers are ok, i prefer the rock preset. Manual is a bit bare bones so you’ll have to play around. Using the sd card provided and file transfer was still quick

The sound is good, but you have to try several headphones to find the ideal one because the equalizer settings are very basic. Phenomenally satisfied with the product! These new models come with usb-c which was a welcome surprise. The sound is incredible, the build quality is really good, the software is a bit retro – but it has an outdated charm to it and you don’t need more options than the mechen m30 offers. Everything works well and the listening experience is fantastic.
I can recommend this player to anyone looking for a lossless device in this price range (and even higher). The delivery did take a few weeks more than they initially told me it would. But the wait was worth it.
